This role is to provide compliance support to all our businesses and regulated entities in Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) and will report to the Mercer Chief Counsel and Compliance Officer for Growth Markets (GMR). Provide compliance advisory and oversight for all our businesses in META. Ensure the business has a compliance program that is operationally robust to address all relevant laws and regulations and aligned to programs within GMR and Globally. Manage Regulatory relationships and correspondence, implementation of new regulations, licensing and filings.
Work with business leaders, senior management and the Regional Legal and Compliance team to:
support a culture of integrity, compliance and excellence and promote awareness and responsibility through training and regular communication and maintain policies and procedures;
identify potential risks and compliance issues in new business, service and product offerings;
follow up on audits and inspections;
report to Board of Directors and Risk Committees;
provide compliance advisory and updates on regulatory developments to the business;
assist with special projects related to the improvement of the compliance infrastructure; and conduct investigations.
Provide general project support to GMR LCPA including research and administration.
Degree – preferred Law or Accounting
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Compliance financial institution role with strong knowledge of DFSA/Insurance Authority rules and regulations in particular in relation to financial advisors
Excellent written and spoken English required; proficiency in Arabic and/or French a plus
Strong communication skills
Integrity and professionalism; must be a team player
Self-starter, excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines
